Asase Yaa Children’s Art Camp (AYCAC) is a performing arts program dedicated to teaching young artists many aspects of the arts including dance, music, singing, drama and set building. Each year, top artists who have mastered their art and the ability to share it with others are obtained to come and work with the young artists. There are also many artists who volunteer their time throughout the camp experience.
The young artists go on trips twice a week to either a museum or performance to expose them to all aspects of the arts and allow them to see the different facets of performance. The annual family bus trip takes the young artists and their families to an amusement park to incorporate family fun and community experiences into their summer. The daily structure starts with a morning circle which helps bring everyone together and also to reflect on prior activities. The camp has a daily structure starting with a morning circle whose purpose is to bring everyone together and to reflect on prior activity.
Asase Yaa Children’s Art Camp is a place of family, fun, creativity, encouragement and education. Each year the children tell a story and present it with art, dance, music, and singing. Children are able to experience new places, learn new dances, and gain meaningful friendships. We are building strong and confident children both physically and mentally.
