Building Tomorrow’s Leaders and Legends
Legacy Pre-Professional Program
The Legacy Pre-Professional Program is an intensive training track designed for dedicated and passionate dancers who are ready to elevate their technique, artistry, and discipline to a professional standard. This program offers a comprehensive dance education rooted in excellence, cultural grounding, and personal growth, preparing students for advanced performance opportunities, conservatory training, competitions or careers in dance.
Why Legacy Pre-Professional Program?
Advanced Instruction
Receive advanced instruction across multiple styles, with an emphasis on technique, versatility, and expressive performance. They’re challenged to grow in musicality, stamina, adaptability, and creative thinking through choreography, improvisation, and collaborative projects.
Performance Opportunities
Have the opportunity to perform at local events, travel for conventions and conferences, and participate in competitions and special intensives. These experiences expose dancers to the broader dance world, strengthen their stage presence, and deepen their connection to the art form.
Holistic Development
Beyond technique, dancers develop confidence, discipline, and resilience. Through goal-setting, creative expression, and a supportive community, they grow into self-assured, empathetic leaders; on and off the stage.
Who Can Join?
The Legacy Pre-Professional Program is open to students ages 6–18 who are enrolled in the Asase Yaa School of the Arts. Admission is based on an evaluation of technique, performance quality, potential, discipline, teamwork, and a demonstrated willingness to work hard and grow. Dancers must show commitment to their training and readiness to thrive in a focused, supportive environment.
Program Divisions
Legacy I (Ages 6–12)
Legacy I is designed for younger dancers who demonstrate strong potential, discipline, and enthusiasm for advancing their training. This division focuses on building a solid technical foundation across multiple dance styles while nurturing confidence, artistry, and performance skills. Students learn the value of hard work, collaboration, and commitment in a fun and structured environment that prepares them for higher-level training.
Legacy II (Ages 13 & Up)
Legacy II supports teen dancers who are ready to train with greater intensity, focus, and maturity. This division emphasizes technical refinement, versatility, and performance readiness while encouraging dancers to take ownership of their growth and artistry. Students are challenged to deepen their creative voice, sharpen their technique, and embody the professionalism needed for auditions, competitions, and future career or collegiate opportunities.
Admittance into both Legacy divisions is by studio director or teacher recommendation, or by audition only.
